BEMER/PEMF
Experience the BEMER Difference
BEMER stands for Bio-Electro-Magnetic-Energy-Regulation. The BEMER device stimulates healthy muscles to improve and facilitate muscle performance. This stimulation temporarily improves local blood circulation.
For more than 20 years, the benefits of BEMER have impacted millions of people around the world. BEMER is an FDA cleared consumer medical device that is non-invasive and easy to use.
What is PEMF?
BEMER therapy falls under the category of PEMF (pulsed electro magnetic field). Therapeutic devices that use PEMF technology produce beneficial electromagnetic fields with various waveforms and frequencies. PEMF therapy directly stimulates electrical activity within the muscle tissues that “the field” interacts with. These signals stimulate healthy muscles to improve their performance. When your cells are “charged,” they can function at the highest level, allowing you to perform your best and recover faster.
Micro-Circulation and Healing
Blood flow plays a critical role in our general health. Blood is the delivery system for oxygen, nutrients, and hormones to all cells throughout the body. Once the delivery is complete, blood then takes cellular waste and deoxygenated blood away from cells. If there is a breakdown in this system all cells in the body will suffer.
The heart works in concert with the nervous system to pump blood throughout the body. Once blood leaves the heart it travels through large vessels such as arteries and eventually goes into the small vessels. These small vessels are referred to as micro-circulation. About 3/4 of all blood vessels in our body are micro-vessels. If placed end-to-end, they would extend more than 74,000 miles, stretching around the earth 2.5 times!
Common conditions treated in the chiropractic clinic involve inflammation and injury to joints, muscles, ligaments and tendons. These include back and neck pain, arthritis, rotator cuff strains, knee and shoulder joint sprains, plantar fasciitis, and tension headaches.
All of which are supported by microcirculation. By supporting blood flow and circulation with BEMER, the chiropractor can assist the body’s healing ability and possibly increase recovery times for these injuries.
What does a BEMER Session Look Like?
BEMER therapy can be performed by itself or in combination with massage.
Sessions range from 16-24 minutes depending on the injury.
Patients lie on the B-body pad or have one of the two different applicators applied to the area needing treatment. This is determined by the doctor, depending on what part of the body is injured.
A low-pulsed field is sent to the tissue throughout the duration of the session. Unlike electric stimulation therapies, the pulse field is subtle, and many patients report feeling more relaxed and calm after a session.
